What are planet conditions?
Planet conditions are simple, high-signal checks used in traditional astrology. They describe whether a planet is visible, weakened, or empowered based on its distance from the Sun and its motion.
Combust vs under beams vs cazimi
- ✦Combust: the planet is too close to the Sun to be visible, often treated as weakened.
- ✦Under beams: the planet is still near the Sun but not in full combustion.
- ✦Cazimi: the planet is very close to the Sun in the “heart of the Sun,” often treated as strengthened.
Retrograde vs direct
- ✦Retrograde: the planet appears to move backward; many elections avoid it unless reversal is desired.
- ✦Direct: normal forward motion; typically preferred for stability and progress.
Why these checks matter
When you choose a window, a combust or retrograde planet often weakens the promise. Many practitioners filter out these conditions for critical actions.
How to check “Is this planet combust now?”
