What are lunar mansions?
Lunar mansions are 28 stations that track the Moon through the zodiac. Each mansion spans about 12.857 degrees (360/28) and carries a traditional theme used in electional and ritual timing.
How we compute the mansion
- ✦Compute the Moon's ecliptic longitude for the chosen time and location.
- ✦Divide the zodiac into 28 equal segments starting at 0 Aries.
- ✦Assign the mansion based on the segment containing the Moon.
Our data set includes each mansion's name, Arabic label, keywords, and a one-line description used in the Magic Layer.
