Fixed Stars - Core List, Orbs, and How We Calculate

Fixed stars add a precise, high-signal layer to electional timing. We track a curated core list with traditional classifications and tight orbs.

What are fixed stars?

Fixed stars are bright stellar points used in traditional astrology. They are treated as long-term, stable influences compared to planetary motion.

Our core list and orbs

We use a curated list with Ptolemaic and medieval classifications. Typical orbs are 1 to 2 degrees, with tighter orbs for angles when needed.

How we calculate fixed star contacts

  • Compute star longitudes and compare with Moon, selected planet, ASC, and MC.
  • Record conjunctions inside the default orb for each star.
  • Show current hits and upcoming Moon entries into orb.
